hello,
why not write a small servlet that returns some value. then, in the
script, just try to fetch the URL corresponding to that servlet. if u
come back with a value, it means that tomcat is running, else not.

I start tomcat and then I start apache.
When I start apache it is throwing the following error -
httpd:Could not determine the server's fully qualified domain name,
using 127.0.0.1 for ServerName.
apachectl starts well, all serv
tomcat has to be started before apache
