I have read
through all the docs about tomcat that I could find. This is my first time
working with tomcat. I am trying to get tomcat to work with apache http server
under winNT4.

i've solved it on my own...
the documentation that came with tomcat never said that tomcat-apache.conf
needed to be included at the _end_ of httpd.conf...
tomcat works fine now with apache 1.3.12 SSL-aware.
