I've set my classpath, no spaces:
C:\>set CLASSPATH=C:\jdk1.3\src.jar;C:\jdk1.3\lib\tools.jar;.
in a separate window, I once again get:
C:\tomcat4\bin>catalina.bat run
Using CATALINA_BASE: C:\tomcat4
Using CATALINA_HOME: C:\tomcat4
Using CLASSPATH: C:\tomcat4\bin\bootstrap.jar;C:\jdk1.3
\lib
ar
ta-tomcat-4.0.1.zip

Yes they are all System environment variables. While I've been
unclear on the precise difference between the environment variable
PATH and the java classpath (and the command line use of % and ; in
setting the classpath), I've been using java for about 8 months
without too much trouble.
