inside the Resource start tag as attributes.
Good luck!

Hi list,
I hope you can help me with this problem.
I have running a servlet in a context running on the tomcat 5.0.28. It all

Hello!
Can somebody help me, please?
My OS is Suse 9.2 pro. Apache and Tomcat work for me.
But If I start Apache with normal httpd.conf, Apache works for me.
If I paste my lines for Apache-Tomcat Connection, Apache doesn't
work for me, only Tomcat. It must be something wrong with this lines, but

OK, yes it turned out to be one of those "dumb" configuration errors -
BUT also a difference in how Tomcat 5.5.7 (or maybe is is Commons DBCP
1.2.1) behaves under Windows versus Linux.

We have been using Sun Java 1.4.2, Tomcat 5.0.19, MySQL 4.1.7, MySQL
Connector/J 3.0.15 with Hibernate 2.1.7c with no problems. This is on
both Windows XP Pro SP2 (development) and SuSE Linux SLES9 (test and
production).
In order to get failover to work the way we wanted we upgraded to Tomcat
5.5.

I don't have this problem with tc-4.1.24. How can I fix it?
I have modified server.xml as follows:

Is your Tomcat using the security manager?? That would explain the error
message. If so, you'll have to allow access to the datasource in
catalina.policy. Otherwise it should work.

Try using the 2 argument DriverManager.getConnection method:
DriverManager.getConnection(String connectString, Properties
connectProperties);
Where:
connectString doesn't include the "?user=root&password="
connectProperties is a java.util.Properties with elements "user" and

Hello,
I've scoured the web and all the Tomcat lists that I can find and still
cannot solve this error. Everything works fine through port 8080 as
stand-alone, but when I try accessing Tomcat through Apache the page times

the msql-jdbc driver from imaginary.com.
My problem is that i cannot access the msql database from a servlet running
