Several people have asked about the antenna I am using on top band
The antenna is described in detail in the APRIL 1984 CQ magazine starting on
page 20 as WHAT LOOKS LIKE A BIRDCAGE FOR A 2000 POUND CANARY The article is

Hi Gary
I need to do something with my Rx antennae
First thing to do is detune or neutralize your TX antenna during RX, a
vacuum relay disconnecting the center of the coax maybe enough,. NX4D
figured out that it was not enough for his insulated tower, it was necessary
a second relay and a
What a difference a day makes.
Signals down on the upper bands on both DXpeditions yesterday. What was 599
copy on Sunday afernoon was now S1 on 15, 17, and 20.
But MUCH better on 160. Snagged T32C on 3rd call during my grayline to East
Coast this morning on 160. Also worked KH2/N2NL on 80.
Any ops that can muscle through the tropical QRN to give out a new country
on TB, are worthy of our praise and appreciation!

Hey - some of us 160 meter challenged individuals are counting success as
the ability to even HEAR T32C! Hi Hi...
Here I set with a 43 foot vertical, one 160 meter loading coil, five elevated
radials (first time I've had this antenna contraption together and on top band)
and running QRP

T32C was quite easy copy here in SW VA just before SR. 3D2R came up
out of the mud here just around SR.

Similar observations from US East Coast.
I was able to work T32C and 3D2R on 40 CW and 80 CW during my gray-line this
morning.
Just to let y'all know that just hearing T32C this morning was a thrill! Just
got my basic 160 antenna up and working - 43 foot vertical, 160 meter loading
coil and 5 elevated radials so I'm happy as all get out just to hear them! For
those of you who've worked them, good on ya!

I worked T32C at 1am EDT last night/this morning (0500z). A simple inverted L
with 16 radials 62.5 long. They could hear me a lot better than I could them
(me at 1kw) but I answered their CQ. They didn't have many takers.
I have yet to hear 3D2R on 160 when spotted. Worked them easily on 80m.
