Gaby's qrz.com QSLing instructions are a bit confusing but I got my 160m QSL
all OK via EA5BYP.
However, I confirmed the route by email with him first just to check.
As said, be aware EA5BYP is off on his 3C Dxped soon so very busy I'd
imagine.

Yes, this is the way to do it. OD5NH was getting this bad rap too. You don't
need to send a SAE to OD5NH either as he returns it via postcard - avoids
suspicion by the police. Registered mail is quite expensive however.

That's not really true. My first QSL for 160 to Lebanon for 8 April,
2011 QSO was not answered. I e-mailed Gabby on 25 July, and got an
immediate answer that he had not received it.
I sent a second, also to his p.o. box 70647, Antelias, Lebanon address,
BUT REGISTERED, on 26 July

Has anyone in North America worked 3C0 - Annobon Island on Topband?

I do hold a 600m special transmit license, never gave it a serious try, any
tips on how to get started.
As soon as I know noone ever transmitted on 500 kHz in Portugal.

Hi Mike,
I think you're confusing this with the so-called "Lowfers Band", from 160- to
190-KHz..
I don't want to say for certain, but "seems" like VE1ZZ played around with
this band as well some years back.
I vaguely recall reading a story about Jack making this humoungous loading
coil, but don't know how
it even panned out. Was there a special temp permit?
Does anyone know?

Several are working well over 500 miles at night and 300 daytime with under

The legal limit is defined in terms of EIRP,
1 to 5 watts. You only need a few percent
efficiency if you have a reasonably powerful
transmitter. Any decent 160 meter transmit
antenna, with additional base loading, will
be fine. Transmit arrays of course don't make
sense.
BTW, the wavelength is
Didn't I read somewhere that this band only allowed 1W ERP and antennas less
than 10m high or am I thinking of another allocation?

Things are looking good at WRC-12. Approval of an international
amateur radio allocation around 470 kHz seems very likely:
