Worked 5 EU this evening, even thought they were the regulars, it was nice
to hear them for a change. G3OLB even peaked to S7, G3JMJ was heard CQ'n
when almost everyone else was gone.
This was w/o my 4 SQ RX antenna, noise level was between S4-5 on the 67ft
'T' vertical. Do have over 100 - 135ft r

Often, quoting eHam is repeating nonsense. Sorry, but it is so, and this is
a good example. Any Ham that relies on published Velocity factor data,
without verification, gets errors, and (frequently) blames it on something
else.

This may improve the SWR somewhat in a 300 ohm system, but
if you are using a tuner to match 50 ohms to 300 ohms, then you
won't seem any noticable improvement. (The tuner setting will
compensate for any slight mismatch due to the velocity factor.)
I guess if one was to use a balan of some sort
It would be good to pay heed to N7DF's e-mail about possible improved

Interesting and nice to hear my signal from the DX point of

satisfied with mine. Thanks for making this available.

As Tom suggests, Max Gain is a good source for top quality parts. He also
sells, scratch and dent items that check good for a lower price.

Jerry,
I've recently purchased very similar vacuum capacitors to these (10KV) from:
Jiangxi Wanping Vacuum Electric Company, Ltd.
Email: feiyu...@hotmail.com
Also, a source here in the US I've spoken with (but never did business
with) is:

I need 2 vacuum variable caps 500 pf 7.5KV or more. Any suggestions for a
reliable source with reasonable prices?

Mike,

shorter than a half wavelength and at each end a wire continues to make

This technique could be applied to shorten a half-wave dipole by using the
twinlead as a T-match. So
once upon a time a long time ago i saw somewhere in a magazine or book,

Hi all,
90 % of our QSO's are in audio. Not all (computer refresh, etc,..). You can
find Your signal in LY. Enjoy it!
Copy "dah",... it is search/pounce mode using Bandmap.
Looking forward to Your comment's.
