CME Aurora. Was working Robin VK6LK on 80 meters (3786.3 KHZ) at 2219 to 22 25
HRS UTC. Had strong mixed aurora interference.

I still remember when I got a SWL report from a guy VK3) in eastern
Australia saying he heard me for several hours way before his sunset. He
tried to call but in vain. I never heard him until I got his email. At the
time I was CQing looking for KH6 so did not bother to switch RX
Just an FYI to all. It appears the band may evolve into something good
tonight.
I was able to contact NP4A in Puerto Rico from my station in Arizona with only
one call at 0036 Z.
The log time is when the sun is almost one whole hour before setting.

Seconding Rick's comment below -- AM towers make REAL lousy RX
antennas. They catch ALL* the front-end-pulverizing noise on 160/80.
Been there, done that... well, OK, not the dxpedition part. But I
have occasionally at night borrowed a few AM Daytime-Only auth'd
