The 5 man team going to TX5T, Raivavae Island in the Austral group
are pleased to announce that they will be QRV on all bands 160m thru 10m.
(no permit for 60M). We should arrive August 13th and depart the 22nd.
The decision has been made to use 18m Spider

ZL2BT was also my first ZL on the band - worked when I was still in W6 I
believe. I am not sure who Alex would have been on the W6 side. The first
person I was aware of working DX from California was W6NJU - who later
became KI6T. Gary

do not remember the ZL callsign, or even the W6 call for sure, but it was
1960-1961 ZL3BT does not ring
a bell, but that was a LONG time ago I am almost sure it was Alex and a call
W6KIP or close to it. Of
course, that call has been reissued at least twice, maybe more. I remember

Robin,that may have been ZL2BT (also SK) and also whose name was also
BOB (what is it about these guy's called BOB and DX on Top Band, i.e.
N7UA and many others), he was very big on 160 ssb in the early 1980's
when I got interested in DX'ing.

Tree, that was VE7BS, BOB (now SK) and VK3ZL, BOB (now also SK), with
almost all qso's using SSB.
We, ve7bs, vk3zl (previously vk3bvs), including myself vk3io (previously
vk3bee) and other vk's, had many great ssb qso's on Top Band between
1983 and 2010, back in the "good old day's" of 160m
