Agree with the HI-Z pre. I have two of
them in use here, one of them for 6-7
years and they work wonderfully for me.

Yes my Hi-Z preamp has been a good one , started giving me a little
trouble last year , I have a Norton amp coming I'm going to try out, if
it doesn't work out I'll buy a new HI-Z
