Yes loobs are broad but even so there are a small area in betwen two main loobs that are quite a bit down. I´ve been using an 8 direction 4 square vertical array on 80m for 30 years and on stuff right in the middle of two main loobs I can see up to 10 dB difference. This is something I built mysel

S9 noise here last night - More then the usual S5-S7. Heard Roger in there and called a couple times but QSB and noise kept me from hearing him well enough to make a contact. Tried a couple CQ's but nothing - band seemed dead at my QTH (noisy) in eastern PA. TomW3TA PS: this is why it has taken m
