I listened for you guys down that way but with my modest antenna system (GAP Voyager - no RX antenna) nothing was heard here. QRN was light but building in the AM in the midwest US but still not too bad. 73, Bill WE5P Comfortably Numb > On Oct 18, 2020, at 20:45, Mail 10 wrote: > > I

I listened yesterday evening through much of NA sunrise. I could see there were many stations on, but few were loud enough to make it through the storm QRN this end. After calling a few of the more readable stations with no response, I went to bed. I heard VK3NX call and eventually work AA6AA,

As Tree said the condx were pretty good this Saturday for the Lowband Jack version of the Stew contest. The trans-polar EU path was very steady throughout the evening. I managed to log 71 EU which I think is a one-night record for me on 160m. Last week I worked 51 EU one evening, but I think

Hi Dave, 270 foot spacing is a good choice only if you're trying to eliminate QRN from local RFI sources not propagating via the ionosphere. Otherwise 350 foot spacing is optimum for suppressing QRM/QRN arriving via the ionosphere 73 Frank W3LPL - Original Message -

Wow!! This was a lot of fun. Always nice to see the band scope filled up with CW signals from 1810 to 1839. I didn't see anyone up above the FT8 signals, but there might have been some. The band seemed very quiet - and I could hear really well, although signals were not really strong. LY7M

I forgot the contest was on. I came on around 0630 UTC, called CQ and was called shortly after by KL7SB, who was 599 here. It was good to work a few more NA around our SR, including VE6WZ who was peaking a staggering 15db over nine. Good to see that weekend contests still generate lots of

I think the spacing is a bit wide  try something more on the order of 250-270' ( goes through the middle of the house right 8^) Dave NR1DX On 10/18/2020 11:20 AM, Kenny Silverman wrote: My new house has 6 wooded acres in roughly a square. For EU, I was hoping to get a pair of phased 500’

I came on for a couple of hours last night in the Contest, but conditions were strange. >From 00.30Z all signals were quite weak, including Europeans. Then from around 03.00Z signals started to pick up . . . although not fantastic. Popped on again at 05.30Z but signals had virtually

Hi Kenny, A single 580 foot Beverage is an excellent 160, 80 and 40 meter antenna. I still have three of them (NE. S. W) even though I also have 8-circle arrays for 160, 80 and 40 meters. I've never used a pair of staggered Beverages with 350 foot broadside spacing, these are ideas based

My new house has 6 wooded acres in roughly a square. For EU, I was hoping to get a pair of phased 500’ beverages spaced 350’ apart. To do that, one of the 2 beverages will be 110’ in front of the other due to the lot-line orientation. Regardless of the phasing I’m modeling, the side and back
