Congratulations, Steve! I bet he was nearly as elated to complete the
QSO as you were! That's almost exactly what it was like when I finally
snagged him back on 1/14, right down to the moments before sunrise.
Now to collect the card... and I presume we have to go direct...

It's the early days of my chasing DXCC on 160M. I'm listening everyday just
before sunrise to catch anything in the Pacific while also having stayed up
late hoping for an opening as sunrise moved across Europe.
It's March 6, 2004 around my sunrise. No signals on 160 CW as was
Congratulations Steve! I've learned over the years that the best time
to work Ross, at least from here in the Midwest (Iowa), is within a
month or so of either fall or spring equinoxes. Ross has always been a
reliable, persistent operator and works hard to pull calls through his QRN.

Steve, congrats.
Ross was my 100th DXCC contact 4/5/2007 at about 15 minutes after his
sunset. Confirmed Q in 2018 as I don't follow up well.
I don't think I believe my log as it lists 599 both ways?

Congratulations Steve for this epic contact! As already pointed out, much of
the difficulty is the very high level of QRN on Ross's end. He gets almost
daily thunderstorms. My experience coincides with what Dave, W0FLS, said. The
most favorable conditions to work 9M2AX are around the equinox
