Is NH8S the on line Log for KH8S. WHAT IS GOING ON?

LOTW confirmation came in yesterday. Card confirmation was a few weeks ago. So
if you did not get yours you will soon.
I thought for sure I worked them on 80M. Was not sure on 160M. My antenna had
issues they had a great signal. Now that I have been working on the antenna and

Tom, what your thinking about GE sealant is that GE first came out with RTV,
which was suppose to be the bad stuff cause of the chemicals they used eat at
copper. Back then thats all there was cause the Original Silicone caulk got
too hard too brittle too fast.
Today silicone caulk thats water
I ran comparisons side by side over the years with folded dipoles, bazookas
against just a plain Jane wire dipole. You can believe what you read.

It is -5 db down from a dipole. Shortened versions past and present are still
-5db down from what I have been told. They are very good antennas for emergency
stations.

1.4 db loss, the fact that it heats up still tells me the coupling is not
right. It should not heat up at all. Seams that the coupling is a bit too
tight. Hi Q. I messed with this but with a different companies !:1 Isolation
transformer and experienced the same thing.
Since part of the signal is
The FPC Isolation Trasformer / Balun I am suspecting has a loss about 2 DB a
little more loss than a non isolated balun. Has any one ran any data on this?

With all due respect:
The FCP is a dipole. One end is vertical while the other is weaved horizontal
on or near the ground.
The 1:1 isolation Trasformer / Balun serves its purpose as well as stopping
those nasty common mode
conditions.
The FP and CY9 came on and I was not able to work them sing
Call Balun Designs you can purchase an 1:2 un to un balun. Here you have a true
way to feed a vertical. It works well for me. If you can measure your input
impedance at the feed point. It should be around 25 to 35 ohms.
You may have to re tune the vertical 43 feet is not exactly a quarter wave
Take 2 rods and grind a point on each rod. Point the points toward each other.
There is your spark gap.
You can do the dame thing with copper flat stock used on building grounds in

I just received this message. Hope this helps.
Jim,
I just spoke to the team leader. He says that in the past few days conditions
have fallen off. 80 and 30 in particular have been bothered with heavy static.
The Amps are being used. The 6 meter beacon is running 24/ 7 on 50.104 CW and

The team was on 160 today at 1231z to 1329z. The frequency used was 1826.5.
Station contacted were from JA, VK, EA, W6, KP4, to name a few.
