Hello Bob!
I have made a small linear with GI46 for HF (See www.hoeppe.name) . 500-550W
out are possible, but ONLY with proper cooling. I fully agree with you: A
weak airstream from the side is a bad advice! Those russian tubes have a
max. seal temperature of only 120 deg. C! I know there are
Hello Mike!
I have built a linear using a GI46 tube (nearly a GI7B, only the cooler is a
bit better). You see it at www.hoeppe.name
I used 1mm wire CuL on a 1/2" ferrite rod. The rule is "as much as
possible". On 160m the inductance will drop significantly, causing that some

Hello!
I had QSOs with VO2FF on 160m in 2009 and 2010.
I sent my QSL to the adress in QRZ.COM:

PO-Box 37
Labrador City
NL A2V 2K3
Canada
Today I got the letter back. The QRZ.COM entry is deleted.
Any infos how to get a QSL? I would like to have Zone 2 confirmed...
TNX in advance
Hello Jack!
I think it makes sense to use /QRP! As someone has written here before,
there are some (good!) operators out here, who always come back to people
sending /QRP first when they hear this extension. This helps a lot! I made
some QRP QSOs with ZL on 40m during contest, in EU pile-up...a
Hello Topbanders,
today I forgot to hook the keying line to my KD9SV preamp. I destroyed the
OMRON G6A relay, witch bypasses the preamp. It is available in DL.
The problem is the 3SK88 transistor. I heard KD9SV is now using BF-981 with a
small modification (cut one trace and add one resistor)
Hello George,
I can fully confirm what you reported. Everybody is just waiting for the
others. I started 160m DX from my home QTH last winter with a very simple
setup. I am QRV nearly every QRL-day in my "breakfast slot" before getting
off, from about 03.30-03.55 UTC. (If I don't have to dig sn
