I just replaced my low 160 meter dipole with an Inverted L to improve my
transmitting signal. The Inverted L is about 2 feet from a crank up tower I
use on other bands.
Here is the general layout:
Tower height is 55 ft. On top is a 4 element WRC tri-bander and 8 feet above
is a 2 element M2 s
I asked Yaesu what the improvement was but never got an answer. I also asked
the ARRL to rerun the analysis on the FT Dx5000 they have so the results could
be compared to their original product review, they never responded to my
e-mail. Does anyone have any clout with the League to nudge them
Very interesting comparison. Has anyone looked at the FT dx5000 after the
firmware upgrade? I asked Yaesu about it and the tech support person who
responded could provide no details on what the actual change was. A before and
after oscilloscope pictorial would be great, if available.

Has anybody received a QSL for OZ1LXJ's operation from Greenland during
Sep-Oct, 2013? He made 505 top band contacts.
