Working east this morning was a complete bust -- only a few signals
heard around east coast sunrise,
Conditions not brilliant from the UK for me, but worked OK into AZ and NM.
Didn't hear anything from North West or coast, CA, NV UT etc. Polar paths not
good, I guess.
Still need HI and ND for my (QRO) WAS on 160 ...

Worked AZ (N7GP). Very easy! Randy K5ZD said VFB signal :) to me.
Called UT (W7CT), NM, NE, CO, MS, MO, CA (few), TX with no answer. USA's

I made about 30 or 40 contacts last night before I got tired early. I was
tinkering with the new contest logging software (tlf for Linux) during that
time; but I think I almost did better last winter with only 100 watts.
Maybe conditions were better last time (not as much QSB, that's for sure),

Thanks for the offers, Bruce and Chet. The states I need are CT, VT, SC,
MS, KY, and WV. Best propagation tends to be the hour or so before
local sunrise on the east end of the path, and that station needs good
ears. For the most part, the guys from east coast states I haven't
worked either
Good luck tonight most of all, have fun!

That's quite common -- in the first hours we hear them, but they don't
hear us for two reasons. First, they're using NE RX antennas to work EU.
Hey you guys-while you come down hard on the east coasters for looking east
instead of west in the CQWW, don't forget to slam us Canookies-we get DX points
for working all you fine fellas just across the border. Talk about skewed
scoring! I'd love to see a lot more activity in the only
operators as we
are worth more. Hi Hi

Heard you CQing 5 x 5 here in Oregon last night, Herb. I didn't have time to
get into the test this weekend so I was just having a quick listen to see
what was up. Can't fathom why you didn't get any answers.
