All,
It clearly shows that having a dedicated topband operator gives the result.
I have enjoyed reading Dietmars update here on the reflector, and I am very
much agreeing with him on what is a good QSO or not. 2045 CW Q`s and 1271
Q`s on FT8 is a good number. I personally don’t use FT8 private,
FYI, tomorrow (Sunday morning in the USA) will be the last efforts from
4W8X. Perhaps keep 1.826.5 open from 10:00Z open. That is where they have
typically transmitted. GL in the contest and 73, Bob K3UL

They seem to be hearing NA better today (11/14). And again, great of them to
listen for NA.
Seems lots of callers aren't hearing them well. Lots calling even after 4w8X
asks for a specific call or partial. An example I recall. He's asking for XX
and lots of callers with no X in their call
4W8X was on 1826.5 (listening down 3) this morning making a real effort
to get some more NA QSOs in the log. I got to the rig about 1130z and
heard a lot of commotion on 1823.5+/- and saw that his QRG was 1826.5
The stations in the southeast and southern US had the best propagation.
John,
Contrary to some of the posts all is not well even with west coast guys
working 4W Land. So far I've invested 3 full mornings beginning at 0330
local. On all occasions the have been Q5 copy for hours at a time. I
have been able to copy them one full hour past sunrise in AZ. This
morning the
When AA6AA worked 4W8X on 11/11 at 1420Z, 4W8X peaked here a few mins
before sunrise. AA6AA caught him exactly when the sun peeped over my
horizon, flooding the desert floor, and 4W8X hit 579. A minute after the
sun peeped over, 4W8X took a 3 or 4 S-unit dip and was back into and out
of the

Yes. FAR too many expeditioners don't understand that 160, 80, and 40
peak on the DAYLIGHT side of the terminator,

Braco,
Thanks for the update :-) In the Northern EU the signals are different
however, I have copied Dietmar from the start of his CQ but signals have
been marginal.
For the last two evenings his signal increased from about 45 minutes before
his sunrise. From about 25 min before his SR and until
I was copying you Q4-Q5 and calling yesterday near my sunrise (~13:50Z)
Unfortunately, all of Japan seemed to be calling too. I could see their pileup
on my bandscope.
But I had to do a family errand and had to QRT at that good time. This morning
(my time) I had no copy.
Your excellent
You’ve had a great signal - I’ve been listening to you on wet string.
Sadly I have no TX antenna yet.
