I agree.
What I don't understand is how people
don't understand that "UP" means transmit
up in freq. Yes, some forget to switch
Xmit freq & call on the DX who is saying
"UP 3". Got it... but when the "police"
send your call on the DX Xmit freq & then
tell you to transmit "UP" in the same

A trivial point in this discussion, but of some consequence in assessment
of data, the average is almost always NOT the 50% point of a population.
The Median is the midpoint -- that is 50% of the population is above and
50% below the Median.
The Average [or Mean] for a population is very dependent

I have noticed this correlation with cluster spots and unsportsmanlike conduct
as well:
In the CQ160 contest last month, EA5RS was calling CQ. I found him on a
routine sweep of the band. Perhaps 3 other stations and I were calling him; he
wasn't hearing well. At some

In truth, exactly 50% of the people on this earth are below average -
not most. Still that's a so

So, in these times of "I want it all at no effort", let's raise the bar.
Create new thresholds, filters etc. at which only serious new ops will get
through.
Close all DX clusters for Topband; yeah hardly realstic, I know.
But..
Do not spot on the cluster anymore.

Hi,
Some of the things that happen on the radio - including on top band, are
very disappointing and can be irritating. I have two or three *other*
activities like playing a musical instrument, gardening, fishing,
petting/grooming/training my dog, and if one of those proves
'irritating' at any give

Hi Eddy,
While I agree 100% with you, sadly this is nothing new. You only need
to look back to Hiram Maxim's "rotten QRM" and the Wouf Hong to see
the longevity of this RF Graffiti.
I'm guessing that because every new HF rig has 160 ability and that
there's more commercial antennas being made

Hi Guys,
This morning, after calling a general "CQ" several times on an apparently
vacant frequency, the passband of my receiver was inundated by someone
deliberately sending a continuous string of rapid dots---pausing only long
enough to see if the barrage elicited any response from me---and a
