Managed 12 NA QSOs just before out dawn but signals were way down on normal.
Almost every contact asked for repeats.

Folks,
I had a lot of fun in the SP contest
though I couldn't really devote nearly as
much time to it as I wanted. I pretty much
only called CQ at the very end, giving
those running the points for QRP. Still,
not bad; 152 Q's for 1326 points.
Thanks to the HI-Z Circle 8 and HI-Z

I felt results to EU were average to above average. I was very surprised
and pleased when two EU's were among the first replies to my CQ's.
I was very surprised in other direction, in initial hours how few
midwesterners were calling in. Usually I rack up several W9's with my first
CQ's although

I was only doing S so I was continuously tuning the band. Conditions
here in SW VA were pretty poor. I only worked five EU stations, all in
Eastern EU. They generally were good copy despite the QRN and showed up
here around 0400Z. KV4FZ and NP2X were weak at first, but their sigs

W3LPL is the only station I know of that has worked a major DX test
accomplishing five-band DXCC 160m through 15. Frank has an exceptional
station for 160m.
N3QE, an excellent op, operated W3LPL for the Stew Perry, with this in his
soapbox:

Wish I had an antenna here in MT DN45 for 160, but that can't be. Second
best option was to remote operate my station in EM69, even though I can't
switch RX antennas remotely (Yet! That will change before next TBDC)... So

Hi all,
I think we had the worst prop of any SP test since I have been in ZL.
In the first darkness period (15z to 1650z there was not a single USA or
KH6 station audible. Usually there are several left coasters on around
their sunrise. Just 2 JAs, 3 VKs and 2 ZLs in that session.

Poor also from Fairbanks, Ak. Listened both nights off and on. But in the end
it was the burning end of my Inv-L that called timeout.
Apparently my coated stranded wire had a covering defect at the far end where
it was suspended in a tree…the voltage node melted the pull-up rope and down it
well, last night about 0600z i went out and heard signals on the NC183,
and my 211 PA was able to light dimly the 300 watt dummy load light bulb,
so i worked about ten stations.
