Greetings,
When I heard from my dear friend Sid K3SX about Bob's passing, I looked back
at my log to determine when I first worked VK3ZL. The date was September 1,
1999. Over the next 14 years, Bob and I worked each other many many times.
Like others have said, he was a fixture on Topband along

That's a great idea.
If she only knew just how happy that he made so many different people all
over the planet. Just hearing him call CQ, or even just seeing his CQ
spotted on a DX cluster always made me smile. He will go down in Topband
history and long be remembered.

May I respectfully suggest that someone collect all these condolence
messages and forward them to his XYL? I'm sure it would provide some
comfort to her to know how far his friendship extended across the
world.

Truly a sad day. Remarkable individual, fellow ham and friend whose heart

Bob was truly a remarkable person. Not only did his homebrew skills far
surpass the vast majority of us but he also put out a remarkable signal with a
modest station. A lot of topbanders may be unaware that Bob's signal came from
a homebrew 42' vertical (yes, forty two foot) . Capped off with
