I do run a dedicated relay (middle only, non-exit, no guard) and can at least confirm that the CPU load is very "spiky" indeed. I was wondering myself in the past but never really cared about it (since it's a dedicated device anyhow). Attached chart shows just a recent example for information.

What about running a bridge from home? Many of us now have 1GB fibre at home, and much wasted, it would be nice to use it for TOR without creating problems for yourself by getting on block lists, abuse complaints and ISP protesting, PC Plod calling round. So far IPV6, even with many open post
