Some DAC's do not display the correct frequency under certain
circumstances. NAD and Cambridge Audio are two I know of that can

Looks like I finally got it to scan. Opened up the control panel and
cleaned up the cache and that seemed to do the trick.
Thanks for the help.

Thank you, it works great! I was unaware of that product, it works like
a charm for a vortexbox install on a FitPC2. It makes doing it so much
easier than having to come up with a USB CD drive

My understanding is that 7.6 changes several things about how stuff gets
stored in the on disk database, which probably means you need to do a
complete from scratch scan when you switch to 7.6. (clear and rescan,
or use another computer to delete the .Squeezebox directory)

It does not have SMB clients so you cannot mount a samba share.
Theoretically you should be able to mount an NFS share, but I think
somebody tried doing that and could not get it to work.
If anybody really wants to try mounting an NFS share you can certainly
try. Just make sure its an NFS share
As mentioned at the beginning of the post, the transfer rate for all
configurations was pretty much the same. 450..500kByte/sec.
Another strange fact.

Hello,
I currently have two Squeezebox radios, a squeezebox duet controller, a
squeezebox touch and the ipeng app for my ipod touch. I exclusively use
mysqueezebox.com and don't have the server installed on my computer. I
have several playlists on Rhapsody that I have created. These playlist

Here are my results monitoring the CPU usage for different
configurations:
The counterpart for testing (PC) was connected to the WLAN router via
Ethernet cable (100MB) all the time. Achieved net data rates for
transfering a 10MB test file was roughly 450..500kByte/sec in average
for all configs.
THANKS!!! :)
It is back in working order now, listening to music again :) Thanks to
you I got the stupid update screen away and maneuvered to
diagnostics/update - this time with the reinstall after firmware update
enabled under applet installer.
Thanks for the help guys - it's a great product,
Everything with my Touch has been working fine up until Saturday. For
some the Server can't scan my external hard drive. I have no idea if
this somehow corrupted something but Saturday I downloaded a few albums
from HD Tracks in 24/96 FLAC. I was able to get one album to scan by the
server, but th
I was about to ask the same...
Very little would be required in the Touch, only the ability to to
mount an NFS volume instead of the USB mass storage.
Really no chance?

Mine was doing this, if you press HOME on the remote it should go back
to the normal menu and work again (mine did). I was about to launch it
through the window before I figure out how to do this though, very very
annoying!

Are you using the Touch as a server or do you have a SBS running?
Maybe this - see first post

I cannot use my touch any more - just as I was starting to be really
impressed, despite all the software issues at launch. Updates have
surely helped. However, now my device is unusable after I updated to
version 7.5.1.r8837. Every time I start, it informs me that an update
is available (7.5.0r867
Have you logged in via SSH and checked the cpu usage with top or similar
tool while you transfer the files ?
Have you compared how fast it is if you use a Ethernet cable instead of
WIFI ?

Meanwhile I've tested with an old USB memeory stick, which is way slower
than
my new USB HDD, too. But all I get for writing to the SB Touch via WiFi
is
4MBit net transfer rate. No matter of protocol (scp or SMB) or target
storage (USB or internal ramdisk => /tmp). Therefore, I'd guess the
