Now for example, after adding new music on the USB disk, the squeezebox
touch do not complete the scan and go in error (this is the 3° disk non
usable).
I do the correct connect disconnect procedure from the squeezebox,
further I have checked the disk with another computer and seams to be
all ok.

The first USB disk was WD with its super software (?). That disk has
been replaced quickly because the squeezebox was very unstable. But noe

I think that the best solution is to use an external PC with squeezebox
running (that I have and use without problems) but I don't like to take
up 300W of PC to listen music.
PS: The USB disk with its own power are rarity, do you have some advice
which and where to
Toshiba had powered USB drives . I use Verbatim 1 2TB for backups
never tried them as disc for the Touch thou.
But the Verbatim drives are very easy to reformat and the fancy
software is easilly to get rid off (no weird powersvae features that
breaks spec), not as root-kit like as many brand
You might also want to try Moose:

I have a very large music collection and with Moose I am able to do
very fast searches of my library. But that's just one of Moose's many
features. Worth a look.

Just leave the VBA running 24/7. It really doesn't use that much

power management. I do none of this...I just leave VBA running all the
time.
