Hi
I recently bought a suqeezebox touch. My issue is that my mac mini does
not sleep when the Squeezebox server in running on the mini. However, it
sleeps fine if i stop the server.
I don't want my mini to stay awake all the time as that also drains the
wrieless keyboard and mouse. But I do
Never noticed this, as I seldom use 'All Songs, but why does it treat
'All Songs' differently than an album and not enqueue every song when
one is played?
Here's a bug report for the problem. From all appearances, it's never
been looked at. I guess the key is that 'All Songs' isn't actually an

Thanks for your help! - I am perplexed.
I just followed your instructions and get the following message:

On the Touch press hold the PAUSE button till it says stopped, not
just paused. See if that allows your mini to sleep.
Just a guess. :)

hello everybody,
i'm searching for a solution to stop squeezebox touch to display the
important notice screen (see attached picture) everytime i connect my
usb-harddisk to the touch.
can anybody tell me, how/where in sourcecode or config-files the
important notice screen can be disabled.
That threw me when I first got my Touch (which was my first Squeeze
product) I was used to the iPod way of treating all songs and when it
only played the one track it took me a while to figure out why. I had
to kinda play around with it and try different things and finaly
figured it out. And
I've just started using a touch after upgrading from a squeezebox 2 (and
an original squeezebox 1 before that). Mainly as I no longer want a PC
running 24/7 so I am using the internal server and a USB hard drive.
As my database is so old most of my 1tb of flac music isn't tagged very
well so I

Hi Gary,
That's very interesting (yes that is exactly what I get - I would
call that a software 'glitch', particularly if there is nothing in the

I have pretty much come to the end of my rope trying to get SBS running

If that doesn't work, a combination of the PleaseSleep freeware program
for OSX plus my ReallyPreventStandby plugin ought to do the trick.

Does anyone know what the effect of plugging an ethernet loopback cable
into a SBTouch would be? Would the Touch see the ethernet as connected
and thus turn off the wifi?

Can't you just set it up using wired ethernet, then pull it off the

Sorry, can you explain me? If I have a HDD connected to the Touch on
the USB port I can see it from a pc in the same network? How?

Wouldn't the wireless adapter be activated on the next power-up? My
understanding of older SBs is that, when connected to ethernet, the
wifi adapters were actually de-powered.

Actually, that seems not to be the case with the Touch. After setting
up with wired ethernet and restarting, a # ifconfig still lists the
wlan0 device.
Pity.

So I doubt that using a loopback cable is going to make any difference.

If you are trying to turn off the WiFi thats one of the options in
soundcheck's toolkit 2.0. The thread on the TT2.0 is over in the
audiofile section. You should be able extract just the wifi part of it
if you don't want to run the rest.

Hi Dave,
when its in this mode does anything work? Does pressing say the power
button do anything? When you push any of the transport button does
anything different show on the screen AT ALL? (buttons highlight etc).
If this were me I would SSH into the Touch and look at the log file and
see if

I'm hoping to pay less than the $225 that Bolder Cable is asking. They
include some modification to the internal power supplies at that price.

re-assembly!
Anyone tried the Bolder Cable $225 analog mod?
