It is possible to play audio from VLC but there will be a buffering and network delay and so video and audio will be out of sync. So to watch a movie you would need to alter video/audio timing manually and even then it not be acceptable to watch a movie -- bpa

Well, here is one other happy user (+family) very grateful for this fix. We have been trying to get to the Radio4 Desert Island Discs Archive - the otherwise wonderful iPlayer plugin is not applicable here. Tried using my Mediafly account but could not find it there. Then tried the BBC OPML feed

I just copy the bin file to the root of my attached USB drive and I don't have to reboot or power off the touch to see the bin file. When I go to settings/advanced/software update it shows both the 7.6 update AND the bin file I just copied to the root. Obviously I choose the update I just put

I use vomue control of my Touch. I do not go down to 50%. Usually 80 - 100. Since I'm using vintage gear (Eico HF-81) I do not have another way to control volume other than walking across room. Also using Music Hall DAC with upgrade Mullard tube. Congrats on your new Touch! -- shacky
