Can someone please advise what the oldest version of Squeezebox Server
the Touch will run on?
I'm currently running Squeezebox Server 7.4.1, which has cured a
rebuffering problem on FLAC files that I had on more recent versions.
Will a Touch run on this version or does it need to be higher?
7.5.x is the minimum for Touch.

Funny thing with balanced outputs is that they are only useful if one's
preamp/integrated amp/receiver has balanced inputs ;)

Depending on what you mean with random. Do you just hit play and then
the random or shuffle button, or do you select the random play thru the
menu with song selected? The reason it might be different, if you just
hit play it will try to add all songs to the playlist on SBS and

I am using sb touch together with a Synology NAS and an ipod touch as

When I am in the album mode, and choose an music-number from an album,
the Touch always played directly that number (and made a playlist for

Yes! thanks. Specifically, I only find this bug when, in iPeng,
trying to go to a particular track from an album accessed via my Music
Folder.
Acessing an individual track (other than #1) from Genres, Albums, or
Artists seems to work fine.
I finally got some time off and have been working on this the last
couple of days. I put some wave files on an SD card and have been
trying aplay. I still get ticks and pops, but not as often as when
playing from squeezeplay. I tried killing jive_alsa and jive so there
was not much going on and

Wow. :)

OK...if this has been asked and answered a million times; by all

Like I'm sure a TON of other SBT users, I'm looking for an inexpensive
alternative...to use as touch-remote ONLY...to the iPad(2), or
otherwise
Well, the difference is that when I access an individual track (other
than #1) from Albums it also doesn´t function.
By the way: is it possible to reinstall an older version of SBS?

Thanks Paul, I dodn't think integer mode has anything to do with it.

audio processing runs using 32 bit floats. The data in the files and the
actual hardware use integers so there is conversion back and forth. My
