my own surfire way of keeping myself unbaffled by wifi issues.
If two tcp/ip cabaple devices are stationary objects use ethernet wires
;)
That leave radio controller and iPad on wifi , this is managable in a
house where i have 14 neighbouring nets ?
I to get variable results on the radio depend
I don't use the radio inside the unit any longer. It's turned off.
I use an ASUS router with DD-WRT configured as a wireless bridge with a
15 foot run of CAT 6 cable. Zero signal problems. I am using the analog
outs and prefer to put some distance between the wireless transmitter
and the Touch.

My experience with wireless indicates that moving a device just inches
can make a big difference in reception. I'd suspect this first.
That said, no manufacturer has 100% quality control perfection, so it
is possible there is some unintentional difference between the two
units.
I'd think any i
My first thought is that I don't put a lot of faith in the "% signal
strength" readings from any wifi device. You would get a more reliable
assessment (and more useful information) by running network tests that
measure the actual data throughput, retries, and so forth.

I received my 2nd Touch yesterday and just finished setting it up. I set
it up in the same location that I had the 1st one at. On the 1st unit I
was lucky to get a signal strength of 45%. Usually it was between 33
and 38%. The first thing I checked was signal strength and it was at
60% !

I have the same issue.
I asked the question here as well but apparently none seams to have
that as a burning issue... ;-)
