I've got several SD cards with FLAC files in folders with album titles
for names. Those folders are in a folder named "FLAC". My Touch doesn't
sem to find the music in these folders to play.
When I put a card in I get the what I think are the expected screens
that stop with a screen with choices
Ok, I will try but I don't want to depend on other hardware. that's the
main reason why I bought the touch!

I bought my touch 2 days ago. I already changed the firmware to the last
nighty one.
I solved the folders problem but in those two hours I had few more
incidents: one Fcc and autorestart, the big "white noise" twice and
problems with the transitions between songs, not speaking about trying

I use itunes (and a mirror mp3 library) for loading up my
iphones/ipods. But I don't use it for ripping, tagging, or organizing
my files. Nothing I have against itunes, just not nearly as good as

+1 to the other comments about iTunes for ripping.
- ALAC is a good choice if you're set on using iTunes.
- Make sure to enable sound check to add gain tags. Not needed for
single album listening, but essential for random playback.
- Make sure to enable secure ripping in order to avoid bad rips.
dBpoweramp can do this easily with a DSP/action setting:

Hmm ok :) one should be very lucky if the server " onboard Touch" works
to any degree at all it's a dud.
I love the Touch as a player ( I have 2 ) but as server eek.
Reason hardware is not powerfull enough , Touch is a very fine player
and server is ok to, but not always together :) now some mor
I believe the problem here is the scanner being stuck.
That you can't access the Mysic Folder while scanning is normal with
the recent versions.

I'd say the TOUCH is almost bugfree. Certainly I've had fewer bugs
(effectively none in my own personal use) than I've had with say,
PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, WORD, and other programs that are much
older (and have much larger development teams than logitech).

Oh, let's not even go there. :)
That said, I've had a Touch for over two years and I've always been
able to access my music folders using it's inbuilt se
Finally working!
Thanks again.
And now one stupid question:
The touch is already 2 years in the market. How can it be that the
firmware isn't almost bugfree?
I mean, a firmware that doesn't aloud to see the folders is a very big
bug, isn't it?
Anyway now I'm happy with the touch.

Done!
Thaks a lot.
Now scanning... I hope that it will let me enter the folders (while
scanning I can't)
I will inform about the results

I second the recommendation for ripping with dbpoweramp. I have used
EAC and dbpoweramp. If you have a PC with a multicore processor,
dbpoweramp will be much faster than EAC. dbpoweramp also uses multiple
sources for metadata and will transcode your flac (or apple lossless)
rips to mp3 for you

You mention HDMI are you using an AV reciever ?
Nowdays they very rarely have a true analog passthru so why not use the
coax or toslink from Touch (and crank up the Touch own volume to 100% or
set it as fixed ).
In almost every case the correct way to hook up anything to an modern
