I have been using the Touch connected via coax to an external non-USB
DAC (Audio Aéro Prestige Signature, with Burr-Brown PCM1792 24/192).
Yesterday I did the following:
1. First played some 192 files via the Touch (no changes, out of the
box), with success, although with the occasional stutter,
What I always wanted was a decent now playing screen saver with a retro
80's cassette tape, complete with spinning reels and track information
on the label in hand written biro effect.
I would actually pay for that.

I don't but it seems that many users of the TOUCH do use Rhapsody based

I currently have a couple of Touches and a Receiver (the black box part
of the Duet). I am also a Rhapsody subscriber.
When Rhapsody itself is stable, which has been an issue in the past, I
have no trouble with streaming. I can say that in recent months,
Rhapsody has been reliable for me.

TEAC uses TE8802. However, I suspect, that a matching firmware is
needed, to have it even "seen" by the SBT. At least, this is my
experience. I use a TE8802-audio-gd-Digital Interface. When I have the

assigned the NAS a static IP and now it works fine but the Logitech
Media Server is a nightmare. It rescans the library even if there's a
mild wind outside. You don't get to see the scan progress either as it

2010.
Have you seen any competitor that provides anything better than the

I have a squeezebox radio and a new squeezebox touch. When I go to
settings | synchronize , all I get is a message saying "add one or more
additional squeezeboxes to use the synchronize feature etc..." Both
devices are on. Radio is connected via wifi and touch via ethernet.

I can actually plug the controller into a LAN jack, which is what I
usually do with Duet player, but even hard wired, it is a flaky SOB.
