Keep in mind what mnyb pointed out above: your audio files must have the appropriate replay gain tags. If they don't, then Smart Gain won't do anything, as it will have no guide to how the levels should be adjusted. Dogberr

There are pros and cons to using ReplayGain. First, to my ear it does a mediocre job of volume leveling. I still use the volume control to adjust, far more than I would expect. Another big disadvantage is that if you also listen to streaming radio or services like MOG, then having ReplayGain ena

Yeah, I think I filed a request years ago that Squeezebox Server give us a simple option to enter a constant volume adjustment for all streaming content. It would at least get it to where both are in the same ballpark. JJZo

I use smart mix and no replay gain works very good, I ever felt the need for replay gain in the direct place. similar music tend to have similar volume in my case ? must be a bit dependent on your library, and my cassoulet listening is not very loud

It's a bug you get the correct rate but the squeezebox displays 705k . It is converted to FLAC by the server to preserve bandwidth but 24/96 FLAC . why aiff ? you buy your HD tracks as FLAC in the first place ? Mnyb's Prof
