I pondered this as well and have just upgraded from a receiver seeing the advise here that the digial transport is superior in the touch but wondered if my kit was high end enough to notice it.
On both receiver and touch I'm connecting via coax tos-link using an AudioQuest VDM1 to an Onkyo TX-NR1009 receiver, DALI Zensor 5 speakers and DALI E-12F sub. I was sceptical but amazon has a good return policy so thought nothing to lose and really pleased I did.. there is definitely something improved with the touch.
