Weird. I looked for a long time at those settings for Touch and Radios
and couldn't see it. It doesn't seem to be visible on my Web UI using a
squeezeplug server.

I did. But I believe others will feel the same.
I think it's a very bad UI concept to have the same menu behave
differently in different situations.

Can you change it? Had a very bad WAF here. "The Squeezebox in the
bathroom doesn't work anymore".
Change the pref. I didn't notice until I wiped my server.prefs a while
back and was reset to factory defaults.
But we should have a UI for it...

It was 4 for me, which explains the behavior.
...which is the default behaviour in 7.8. I don't know whether this was an
early change with UE SR in mind or why this was applied. But I'm glad I
don't _have_ to use it...

Hmm, I'm usually pretty good at figuring this stuff out but I'm at a
loss, question just updated to 7.8 and now on my Duet remote, using with
my touch, Music folder-->ac/dc press play and it's fine, but now when I
go back and scroll to say song 3 a pop up asks if I want to play entire,
just the so

Im seeing the same thing. I believe it's an issue with the 7.8 firmware.
It's not limited to the music folder, too, the same thing happens with
album menus.
