This is still a problem after upgrading to v7.7. I am using both SB3, SB
Radio and SB Duet. Same problem observed on all players also after
upgrade to v7.7. The Music Folder is inaccessible due to scanning,
although scanning is reported as complete in the server control panel.

I see some errors in the log, perhaps this causes the touch to lock
music folder access?

Before the 7.6 upgrade, I never experienced any problems with my
library. Now if I add one file to the Touch, I have to wait for ages
for the music folder to become browsable again.
Wouldn't it be possible to free this folder again during scan, because
this is frustratingg.

Ok, I will try but I don't want to depend on other hardware. that's the
main reason why I bought the touch!

Hmm ok :) one should be very lucky if the server " onboard Touch" works
to any degree at all it's a dud.
I love the Touch as a player ( I have 2 ) but as server eek.
Reason hardware is not powerfull enough , Touch is a very fine player
and server is ok to, but not always together :) now some mor
I believe the problem here is the scanner being stuck.
That you can't access the Mysic Folder while scanning is normal with
the recent versions.

I'd say the TOUCH is almost bugfree. Certainly I've had fewer bugs
(effectively none in my own personal use) than I've had with say,
PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, WORD, and other programs that are much
older (and have much larger development teams than logitech).

Coming up on hours into this damned scan with no library access. Can
someone confirm what I ran into with 7.6...that when setting paths for
the library it doesn't recognize mapped drives (it always did in the
past)? I had to create a symbolic link on my C drive to get at my
library.

I am NOT happy that I can't access my music folder while scanning. I
MOSTLY navigate my library by browsing the folder structure and I have
a massive library. It may be hours before I can listen to any of it.
This is a VERY big problem for me.

experience problems with the artwork scanner.
I've installed firmware 7.7-rc5. Now it's scanning like a charm.
Live update: finished scan for artwork!

To answer your question: The scan is never finished. It finds all music
files, but (on my Touch) crashes during the artwork search and fails
monitoring new files. But it never proceed
Same here. Since the last upgrade, my music folder is not available
because it's scanningcontinuously, while it doesn't actually find new
files, so it's not scanning at all. When I wipe and rescan, it shows
scanning information but it stops somewhere around 70% while scanning
for artwork. Library
