Yes but the thing was it was only my pukka CD rips from my own
collection of discs tagged in Flac Frontend that didn't work.
But the theory is correct The Touch was taking the artist from the root
directory name of the USB stick instead of from the Tags.

OK I have checked using Artist view instead (never used this before) and
what is interesting is that it actually lists SDA1 as an Artist ?
This is strange as when I finished running the Flac Frontend it lists
the aartist tag correctly eg. Paul McCartney etc

open these FLAC files in mp3tag. Select the files and then right click
and select extended tags.do you see any stray

Right clicked and chose extended tags got ARTIST : The Beatles, ALBUM :

Do they have an artist tag ? Not just an album artist tag or similar .
The tags are flac ( vorbiscomments ) not id3v in your flac files , and
especially not both .

I have just started to use flac files stored on a USB stick with my
Squeezebox Touch.
I used FLAC frontend to tag my files correctly and then inserted the USB
into my Touch.
All works well and the tracks play fine but on the Now Playing screen I
get the correct track name and folder name but I
