Thank you for these explanations.
Hopefully in a future firmware, the sensor proximity will work as it
should : Infrared proximity sensor to detect presence and wake from
sleep mode !

I wouldn't hold my breath -- I don't see it as a high, or even a medium,
priority for development. In the meantime, just go that extra 1-2cm and
touch it to get the same effect.

What is the use of proximity sensor on the squeezebox touch?
When I place my hand in front of the screen, the SBT should wake up.
But this is not the case.
However, the proximity sensor is working properly on the Factory Test
screen.
Do you have the same problem?

Actually the proximity sensor is disabled in the Touch's normal
operation. It seems it never quite worked out in practice the way it
was planned. Search in these forums and you'll get more info, but this
