Yeah! Its working now after connecting it to internet from some other
place. It downloaded a firmware update and installed it. I am able to
use it without connecting to internet after that.
It is very easy setting up once the internet is available.
Thanks a lot for all the help provided.

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?
I would be amazed if anyone in Logitech QA has ever attempted to set up
and operate a new Touch without a network or Internet connection.
Do the newest Touches being sold still have ancient firmware loaded on

This is just off the top of my head - don't know if there are issues
that might prevent it working - but could you just take the Touch to a
wireless hot spot (local coffee shop, etc.) and use their wireless to
download the needed firmware update? It would probably need to be a

It would have to be a place that does not require a username or
password, or ANY interaction. It has to be something that once you
connect you are on the internet. The Touch does not have a web browser
so it has no way to interact with a captive portal.

You must initially connect to either MySB.com or SBS 7.5.x on your
computer. This is necessary to update your Touch's two year old
factory firmware.
To connect to SBS on your computer, can you swipe the screen right to
left? Or scroll down to other options below the current screen?

As has been mentioned the Touch HAS to connect to the internet at least
once in order to download its firmware. Thats not actually strictly
speaking true, it IS possible to load the firmware from a USB stick but
its a more complicated procedure. Its MUCH easier to do if it can
connect to the
Thanks.
Does it need internet also. I got my wireless network setup. It is
connected to network and trying to connect to mysqueezebox.com and
failing as internet is not connected.
I do not have internet connected to the wireless network.
Is there a way to skip this step and use the SB server
Hi All,
I just got my new SB Touch.
I do not have a network. Only a laptop.
I have planed to use it with an external HDD with all the flac files on
it.
But when I start the SB it is asking net work details.
Is a network is mandatory to setup SB Touch.
Please let me know the steps to set it up
Yes network is a mandatory step. However once it has connected to
network once, it is no longer needed to use the TinyServer.
