For Touch you want the file that begins with 'fab4' and ends with
'.bin'. Which version (eg, r9408, r9471) you want is up to you,
depending on which version of SBS you're running.

Re-installing 7.6.0 in stand alone mode seems to have resolved the

It worked fine for me ; now all I have to do is prevent auto download of
the latest software, just ignoring the attempt with the remote (home
button).

I just copy the bin file to the root of my attached USB drive and I
don't have to reboot or power off the touch to see the bin file. When I
go to settings/advanced/software update it shows both the 7.6 update AND
the bin file I just copied to the root. Obviously I choose the update I
just put ther
Here is the procedure that works for me:
on a separate computer download the fab4xxx.bin file and copy it to the
usb stick. Unplug the Touch from power, plug the USB stick in, plug the
power back in.
After it boots go to
Settings/Advanced/Software Update
You should see the version on the stick
I tried to do this via USB stick and the touch would allow in standalone
mode was a re-install of 7.6.0. It was worth a shot...Thanks!

Try downloading the firmware from
http://update.slimdevices.com/update/firmware/ and saving it on a USB
stick or a SD card. Note that you want the filename that begins with
'fab4' and ends with '.bin'. Take note of the release number (eg,
r9408). Then insert the USB stick or SD card in the Touch.
Is it possible to roll back to the previous version of software on the
touch without a computer connection??? If so, how?
I believe that would mean that the previous version would still need to
be on the SBS?
