Have both mac and windows machines floating around. Thanks for
clarifying about mp4 and aac. Using mp3/4 so often to describe music, I
forget its original function was a file compression methodology.

That is one screwed up station. :)
They could be the poster child for "let's spend a lot of time hosting a
station but then make it near impossible for people to tune in".
- they choose a stream format not widely supported
- they don't get themselves listed on the big/free stream aggregators
VLC is a generic media tools which can be used with a plugin for SBS to
transcode unsupported streams but SBS would need ot be runniung all the
time to play this stream.
What OS do you use on your PC ?

> P.S. As per the website, their two streaming modes are mp4 and aac.

No their stream f
Yes, the station is KCPR, and I've played it so far only with QuickTime.
Am not familiar with VLC.
Where I have a pc around, I'm alright with the QT stream, but in my
listening room, audio is fed by SBT using the stream URL's set on the
website (Favorites).
Can VLC help?
Thanks much!

The URL you posted does not play in VLC for me.
What is the URL of stations Website which has the 3 options ?
RAM is a playlist format not an audio format so audio format copuld be
MP3, RealAudio, AAC etc. When you play the RAM URL what format is the
audio stream initiated by the RAM playlist
Hi all,
Trying to play this radio station stream from a local radio station-
but they warn on their site that not all players can play the stream as
it's AAC/MP4, presumably better fidelity. The three options they give is
a QuickTime QTL stream, a RealPlayer RAM stream and the above. No luck
