and of course if you are using an SBS install that is -not- on the
Touch, you can as always use a web browser to control that, which will
control the Touch.
ie, the 'no webUI' only applies to when you plug media into the Touch
and use the Touch's own server.
So

So no web ui applies to media found on a usb drive directly connected to

Yes, it applies when no using your own Squeezebox Server.

Workaround: could I install SS on the laptop, and tell it the music
I understand the touch doesn't have the web ui included as a feature. So
there is no way to control the Touch wirelessly from a remote PC such as
a laptop?
I'm asking b/c I'd like the 24/96 capability, but play music without
being close enough to touch the Touch?
Not talking about ipeng here,
As far as I know, you could control it from SqueezePlay. Squeezeplay can
behave as a controller (simply select the player you want to control) as
well as a software player itself. I use it to control from my laptop,
transporter, booms, duet receiver, etc. Don't have a TOUCH, but this
should work.
Shouldn't Moose work as well?
