At the present, Paragon Software has a driver which ostensibly can be
integrated into the embedded Linux running on the Touch and provide
HFS+ (Apple Macintosh) and ext4 (Linux). These two filesystems support
file volumes up to 16TB which is good to know as hard drive capacities
grow.

looking at software from Paragon extfs which enables Macs to read/write
and format ext2, ext3 and ext4 drives.

ext4 would be a great choice for this. I'm not sure if it's supported
or not.
