Hello Jean2,
thanks a lot, thanks to your first post, like you describe, the
requisited tools are maked even if the full build don't occur!
Then the
bitbake rsync
is OK
So, I only scp rsync* directly to the /usr/bin without the rsyncd.conf
in /etc
Now, I can do a Grsync to the Touch

Thanks for your great write up starting this thread. I thankfully used
your directions and compiled rsync to attempt to do the same: using
Rsync to update the files on the Touch
You mentioned that you never got the rsync daemon to use its
congifurations settings file rsyncd.conf

Hi.
well I live in both worlds. Linux and Windows.
My Windows computer is a big power consumer, my Linux with a small atom
board is not :-)
I use it as my backup target with squeezeboxserver and some other
services.
Now, to have some handicrafts, I was looking for a way to sync my touch

Hi again Jean.
Yes i know you are running Linux. In fact, I mentioned this sync tool
because its a simple way to implement a good reliable synchronization
in a win environment, without using a virtual pc in order run Linux.

Hi,
I've been trying to work out how to synchronise my music collection
on my main PC and the music collection on the USB hard drive connected
to the touch. After a bit of research, I've got rsync working properly
on the Touch, and I'll share the details for other advance users...
Note that you

A little gift for the impatient. This is my version of rsync cross
compiled for the Touch, see attached. Absolutely no warranties, use at
your own risk...
Have fun...
