I’m not seeing that when running the latest trunk of webbrowser-app on my
desktop: when visiting that page, the search field is initially focused (as
expected), and the "Search Terms..." placeholder text is just that, a
placeholder that disappears when focusing the field.

Note that this _only_ affects trusty. All kernels in trusty are
affected. linux-lts-vivid in trusty shows this behaviour where as linux
in vivid does not, as these are essentially identical it seems most
likely this is either an lxc profile issue or an appparmor userspace
issue.

I confirm that the patch in https://github.com/lathiat/avahi/issues/10
solves the problem and returns calm to our logs.

It looks like this got fixed in the next mir release that landed in the
overlay PPA (mir 0.16.1+15.10.20150930.1). Will have to see if we can
safely copy-package this version, or maybe we'll just distro-patch it
quickly to fix the build failure.

I'm unduping this - bug #1295908 says that there are two ways to fix
(try again or check 'applications' in the filters list). This bug is
about being in a state where neither of these cases work - apps are
never returned until unity is restarted.
I got it once again a couple of weeks ago but I for
Triaged/High; since this affects some users who connect directly through
PPPoE. While this may be a relatively low number of people, it's
crippling if they cannot retrieve pppoe after the fact due to no
network...
This simply needs a cherry-pick of
