nohup seems to have stopped working, not sure since when. It's easy to
reproduce:
1. Close your default browser
2. Run:
nohup sensible-browser &
3. Wait for the browser to open
4. Close the terminal emulator
The browser is terminated.
I have discovered that, instead of
cloud-init can collect relevant logs with 'cloud-init collect-logs'
that is what we tell people to run (and what gets done with 'ubuntu-bug
cloud-init').
