We rewrote the update notifier in Qt/C++ and got rid of the aptdaemon
dependency earlier in the Noble cycle, so this is now resolved in Noble.

On Jammy, the update from 2.4.7-1ubuntu0.2 to 2.4.7-1ubuntu0.3 causes
simialr XML not well formed (invalid token) errors for files which
contain binary data. Downgrading to 2.4.7-1 resolved the issue.

New here and to Linux. Seeing this after ignoring the python issue for a
long time. I ignorantly upgraded to the dev branch of Ubuntu 24.04 from
Ubuntu 22.04 LTS as a result of trying out do-release-upgrade blindly.
(I didn't bother to look up the -d flag and what it does.)
I avoided the software-
I'm going to target this to 24.10 as it's the first time it will be
possible to "solve" it. As far as I understand, there will probably be
performance loss with 3.3 compared to 1.1 but it's going to be a long
tail rather than a few big changes which have been included in 3.1, 3.2
and 3.3.
