I have the same issue on 16.04, so maybe this issue is connected to the bluetooth dongle. Can you check this issue ones more, because now the solution is to buy new computer or change linux distro or even linux because this is now working. Btw on macOsx and Windows my hadset MDR- XB950BT works fine. My distro is xubuntu 16.04, and my computer is dell e5320.
