I am also having the invisible cursor problem after waking up from suspend on HP Desktop AMD 64. I got the mouse cursor back by locking with xscreensaver. I ran the command using alt + f2 xscreensaver-command --lock Cursor reappeared on lock screen and after entering password the cursor was back
