@bcanderson Try to add string 'options snd-hda-intel index=0 model =headset-mode,asus-g73jw' to file /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and turn off your laptop. After power on sound should work correctly everywhere. But, external mic disappear. :( I think sound + internal mic is better then no sound a
