This bug is related to
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glibc/+bug/1725869 (and
https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=22296). If gcc-4 is
rebuilt with a version of glibc with that bug fixed then this one is
fixed too.

I am doing nothing on the box, just setting it up.
The only packages I've installed are for sshd and bluez.

As mentioned in comment 5 of bug #1298021, it seems that Google have
modified how they package Chrome in their repository.
Based on the fix for that bug, it appears that Chrome was packaged as
/opt/google/chrome-stable/google-chrome-stable, /opt/google/chrome-beta
/google-chr
Ah! It appears that Google have changed their packaging subtly, which
has made the original patch ineffective.
Among other things, the original patch added the following lines to
"/etc/apparmor.d/abstractions/lightdm_chromium-browser":
/opt/google/chrome-stable/google-chrome-stable Cx -> chromi
