Yes. My hardware is still working as well as the day I got it. I only
charge it rarely, maybe once every other month. I always turn it off
when not in use and don't leave it attached to the charging base. Maybe
that helped the longevity, or maybe i just got lucky.

I don't know for sure what package fixed this, or how many years ago it
really got fixed, but at least the bug is now closed.

It seems a shame that my affected hardware didn't live to see this day
:( If it had held on another year and a half, I would've been able to
test this out. Glad Martin's was still working to check it out over
_eleven years_ (!) after he first commented on this issue!

In a recent clean install of Ubuntu 19.10 I did not have any problems
with this keyboard/mouse. Actually, its an integrated track pad.

Confirm. I have updated 17.04 -> 17.10 and this bug is still exist. Have
to edit hid2hci.rules file as Daniel Beauyat suggest to get it work.
